Having a versatile work wardrobe that can take you seamlessly from day to night is very difficult to find. But with a little help from some accessories we’ve compiled some helpful hints to get you from the office back to your social life.
Classy Gals
If you have had a desk job for awhile you’ve acquired some essentials like a pencil skirt, black pants, button down shirt, blazer, and a work appropriate dress. We go back to basics for our first outfit. Take your favorite pencil skirt and pair it with a sparkly spangly tank much like our very own 1980’s beaded tank. Throw a camel colored blazer over the top for a more professional look. If you don’t have a camel colored blazer then grab our own 1980’s blazer as a fabulous fall staple. Accessories are vital to transitioning this look. Spice up this every day outfit with a chunky chain; wrapped gold stud earrings, and a pair of animal print shoes (we’re loving the leopard print with this look!) After work grab a pair of black wedge booties along with your khaki skinny pants for a sleek out on the town look. Drape multi layered chains with dangling gold earrings for an edgy allure.
High Powered Fashion
For women who work at high power job like Wall Street or a law office showing your girly side isn’t always the best. So how do you transition from your masculine suit to something a little more relaxed? We start with your everyday work wear: black blazer, button down shirt, and black dress pants. Get a little color into your mundane suit with a sheer red button down shirt with mandarin collar. Not sure where to find one? Take a peek at our 1980’s Liz Claiborne Collection Blouse. We suggest you pair that rocking red with a classic pearl necklace, red accent drop earrings, and a great pair of pointed black leather high heel. This is sure to shake up your office in a good way. Going from night to day will be a cinch now! Untuck your shirt and throw on your favorite skinny jeans for a more relaxed look perfect for going out with the girls. Add a pair of nude wedge sandals and if you love vintage jewelry a large 60’s flower power necklace with gold drop earrings make for a great combo. Want to get a little more high fashion? Leave your blazer behind and spring for a fuzzy furry coat for those chillier fall nights. Might we suggest a vintage 1970’s Mongolian Curly Lamb Coat with Belt? This super soft and cozy coat would be a wonderful addition to any working girls’ closet.
Even Better After Labor Day
If you are looking to wear a tasteful dress to your cubicle life we’ve got a few pointers on how to get that dress from the water cooler to the local watering hole. If you’ve been following fashion lately you’ve noticed the peplum dress trend, we have a great peplum example just sitting in our very own office. Try out our 1980’s Peplum Dress with feather print and asymmetrical peplum for the office. Even though it’s after Labor Day were advising you grab a pair of white wedges, a shiny black skinny belt, pearl cluster earrings and layering long strands of pearls for a sophisticated 9 to 5 look. After hours lose the adorable wedges for a great pair of skintight leather boots, cinch your waist with a cute wide bow belt, and swap your lovely pearls for dangling chain earrings and a collar necklace.Fashion School
To our favorite educators, who on a daily basis need to look fabulous while dealing with the messiest people we know. We’ve got a Friday outfit that is perfect for both school and your after school activities. Many schools are becoming more and more relaxed on dress code so we decided to give a light dress option that is a little more formal but, not a school marm. We started with an 80’s Secretary Dress with this superb herringbone print. To spice up this dress for school we love an opaque black tights paired with a chunky black suede boot, a shiny black belt, and a great textured gold drop earrings. For after school we suggest you lose the tights and slip into a pair of tan/nude peep toe booties. Switch out your shiny black belt for a wide leather bow belt and change your simple gold drop earrings to a funky gold stud. Finally, add a layered black and gold chain for a little more shine.
She's So Artsy
We can’t forget our ladies who work in the arts. Whether you are a musician, an event planner,
a graphic designer or a fashion merchandiser you need an outfit that shows you
mean business (and a little fun). Show
off your fun and flirty side with a red dress for work. We suggest our own 1980’s Bill Blass Floral
Dress for this example. We love a red
dress with a cropped black blazer, adorable red kitten heels, chunky stone
necklace, with a funky silver hoop. To
transition to your night out swap your cropped blazer for a brown leather
jacket, your kitten heels for an open toed chunky sandal, chunky necklace to a
bubble necklace and finally a fun funky silver drop earring complete this
nighttime alteration.

you are transitioning between work and your social life keep an eye on our shop
