Style Get Away

Packing for any summer destination vacation can be difficult.  Don’t fear the suitcase test this year!  Check out our easy breezy packable outfits that can escape the travel damage unscathed.

More when you continue reading!

Save some space in your suitcase by packing a pair of light weight white pants.  Almost every Resort runway this year featured a pair of white pants.  Calvin Klein and Chanel featured a pair of long loose white pants that fluttered over the top of the shoe.  Giorgio Armani, Chloe and Christian Dior also featured a slightly more tailored white pant that cuts off around the ankle.  Chloe gave her tailored pants a more grunge look by rolling up the hem just a little.  Either way a girl can’t go wrong with a pair of white pants this summer.  Luckily, we have a pair of white pants relaxing in our shop right now.  These 1990’s Giorgio Armani pants are yearning to go away on a fabulous vacation!  Quickly whisk them away on your summer adventures before someone else does.

Whether you are going somewhere a bit nippy this summer or just having to wait in a chilly airport a blazer is the most stylish way to warm up.  Fly away in a classic black blazer like Derek Lam and Alexander McQueen in our very own 1970’s 3 button black blazer.

Black blazers aren’t the only stylish warm up staple, try going a little bold with a pure shot of bright color.  Rachel Zoe shows off a satin like pastel blazer for the light and airy traveler.  Too mild?  Check out DKNY’s hot pink blazer for something sure to shake up your journey.  If you like hot pink you will definitely love our vintage Harve Bernard Jacket!

Not one for solid colors?  Take a gander at what Burberry and Stella McCartney are designing.  Be offbeat with a patterned blazer; perfect to pair with everything in your travel closet.  If you love funky geometrics you’ll fall in love with our 1970’s handmade blazer instantly.

What doesn’t go better or fold smaller than a clean button down shirt?  This classic is never out of style and never out of new outfit ideas.  If you are wearing the button down shirt for the journey you can choose to wear it long and crisp with long pants like Salvatore Ferragamo or Alexander McQueen.  Packing that shirt away for another day?  Not a problem.  Wrinkle the shirt a little and pair it with your favorite shorts for a laid back sunny look.  Take some inspiration from Burberry and Bally for the perfect relaxed button down shirt.  Don’t have a button down shirt yet?  What luck, we have a 1970’s ruffle collar button down aching to be taken out for a sunny vacation!  Come get to know it better at our shop.

Pants are not required for a relaxing vacation.  Why not dress up a little while you’re slowing down.  Walk the streets of your vacation town in style with a classic black and white contrast like Pringle of Scotland, Alexander Wang or BCBG Max Azaria.  Cool and collected will be the hit of the day and the night.  Not a black and white kind of gal?  Try finding a short sleeved dress in a fabulously bright color.  Take some pointers from Proenza and DKNY.  Need a colorful dress?  Search no further than our own store.  Pick out this wonderful 1980’s Bill Blass Mint Green confection for your trip.  Easy to pack, easy to wear and easy on the eyes.

Escaping the summer heat to somewhere cold?  You can still have a dress and pack it too.  Try a button down dress for a comfortable, warmer look.  Check out Valentino, Temperly by London and Balmain for great solid colored button downs sure to make your vacation very stylish.  Headed for a hotter climate?  You can still rock a button down dress in the tropics with tips from Anna Sui, Carolina Herrera, and DKNY with sheer patterned button down dresses.  Liking what you see?  Try out our very own 1980’s shirt dress, perfect for stuffing in any bag.

Fill that small space in your bag with a versatile shift dress this summer.  This light and airy dress is perfect for any kind of vacation.  Are you a sparkly diva?  Take some inspiration from Salvatore Ferragamo and rock a sequined front shift dress on your summer destinations.  Are you a bit of a hippie?  Check out BCBG Max Azaria shift dress complete with patterned hem and cobalt blue sheer diamond cut outs.  More of an Audrey Hepburn fan?  You’ll love Alice and Olivia’s mod quarter dress designs with white and blue.  Whatever style tribe you follow a shift dress is a perfect solution for your small suitcase woes.  Check out our own 1960’s shift dress.  She’s a classic who needs to get out and meet new people.

Spice things up on your vacation with a high neck halter dress.  Whether you are going clubbing or to a country club dinner this dress is very adaptable.  Check out the two contrasting designs by both Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen.  Start with a clean short and sweet look.  Or go big with a full length hem and beautiful embellishments.  If you are in the mood for something short and sweet we have the perfect dress for you relaxing in our shop.  This 1970’s high neck silver dress with matching belt is a guaranteed hit for any vacation destination.  Why not take a peek by clicking on the picture and visiting her?

For those of you regular TreasureChest readers you may remember our blogpost “Summer is in Bloom”.  In that blogpost we edified the trend of floral maxis.  That trend is still going strong this season and has proved itself to be a popular subject among many different designers.  From Carolina Herrera to Badgely Mischka to Bally to Valentino to Zac Posen all can agree the floor length florals are a very stylish look.  We still have a 1960’s floral gown just itching to get out of our shop and see the world this summer.  Give her a look over at our shop and see that this gown would fit right in your suitcase.

Every traveling girl knows she can’t go anywhere without her Little Black Dress!  White and black seems to be the biggest trend of the summer so you can’t forget that lbd at home.  Take some inspiration from Carolina Herrera this summer and choose a boat neckline for a classic crisp look.  The devil is always in the details and we have a little black dress with all the detailing you need.  This 90’s Andretta Donatello beaded evening dress has a modest front with a great sexy open back.  Show off all the right skin with this great vacation choice.

Whether you are going continents away or just a few hours don’t let your small suitcase get you down.  Take our suggestions to heart and have a wonderfully stylish summer vacation.  Au’revoir!
