Just The Highlights

This past weekend was the culmination of the fashion year; the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York.  But, if you're a busy girl it's hard to take the time out to really enjoy the fashion.  So, we've put together this long post to bring you only the highlights.

VINTAGE INSPIRATION

Here at TreasureChest we love seeing designs from the past become popular again.  Check out these designers who decided to give us a blast from the past.

Back to the DeLorean, Marty

If you loved John Hughes movies, the birth of MTV, and the shoulders of a professional lifter then you will definitely fall in love with these actual runaway photos!
Remember those shoulder pads from outer space?  They're back.

STOP! In the name of fashion!

As fashion week began to unfold more quickly we saw that, in their hearts, some of the designers are still "Dancing Queens".  If you were made to shake your groove thing on the dance floor and strut with style then you'll have to take a good long look at these fashion throwbacks.  Charlie agrees that you will love this collection, fashion angels.
It's time to match your pants to your tops, ladies.

 Great Gatsby!

The decision for Baz Luhrman to adapt his own version of "The Great Gatsby" isn't just going to make cinematic history, it's going to make fashion history.  The film is set in the wildness of the early 30's; no expense is spared on parties, clothing, or affairs (woah!).  No wonder designers seem to have drawn so much from this art deco period this season.
If you're going to be a real film noir starlet you need a good velvet smoking suit.
