The Help

There are quite a few period dramas coming out in theaters this year, but I am currently most excited by "The Help"  Supposedly it is the story of three very different women, forming an unlikely friendship (and writing group) during the height of the civil rights movement.

Anyway, besides being a phenomenal and moving story, it should prove to have some great examples of early 1960s fashion.

For example:

This movie will be in theatres everywhere August 12th.  I'm hoping it will prove to be a beautiful movie, both in story, and visually.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The Far East

Trends are always coming and going, we never really know where we'll end up.

One trend that has re-surfaced this spring/summer season is the asian inspired trend.  For Example:
 Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton

Rodarte (the dress not the vase painting)

Abraxas Rex Cape

Celine Heider and Ackermann

John Galiano and Louis Vuitton

I think this is a trend one can really have fun with.  You can use just one piece, but it makes the biggest impact if you commit to the look fully.  We currently have some things in the shop that would work great for this trend.  Check it out:

FREE SHIPPING 1960s Gold Beaded Wiggle Dress

 VINTAGE 1960s Wiggle Dress

These and more are now available in the Shop!
